Making releases for a compilation of reissued albums

I’m looking for guidance on whether to create new releases under existing release groups for a box set of reissued albums.

I got the Ween “Brown Box”, a new collection of all their albums reissued on CD, which is already on MB and linked to the release groups.

However, the discids are not mapped and I’m thinking I need to make a new release group for each of the albums in the compilation. I would then have to make sure that the recordings are linked to the existing ones. Is this the correct approach?

If you want to add disc IDs to the box set release you can add the disc IDs directly there. Disc IDs are always linked to a specific medium on the release.

Just attach the 10 DiscIDs to Ween “Brown Box”.

Don’t attach the disc IDs to the separate releases as you got the CDs as part of the box set.
