London Digital: series, imprint, or variation on London Classics?

I’ve got a release with logos like below[1] on the slipcase (front, left, top, back) and fatbox (front, back). There’s also the text “LONDON” on the fatbox spines and the usual London Classics - MusicBrainz logo on the CD labels.

https://www.discogs.com/label/613704-London-Digital says that it’s a series, but I’m not sure why. At least how it’s used on this release looks exactly like a normal imprint to me. I don’t see it as either a label or series in MusicBrainz.

Any ideas how this should be added to MusicBrainz?

  1. Except for the circle at the bottom of the N, but I think that’s a printing error. ↩︎

Discogs’ information looks pretty detailed, and I haven’t found anything in a quick search about it to say any different.

Until more reliable information comes to light, I think I’d follow what it says at Discogs. Label = “London Classics”, and you can create the “London Digital” series, if you want to. I probably wouldn’t bother, until some more releases with the “London Digital” logo show up.

Thanks! I bet there are more that people just linked to London Classics because London Digital wasn’t in MBz yet. I added London Digital - MusicBrainz.

I remember some kinda discussions on this in the Discogs world. All confusions of branding. Don’t know what they ended up doing, or what MB does. This is some of their discussion: https://www.discogs.com/forum/thread/1020750
