ListenBrainz add-on for Kodi

Hi all!

I’ve just announced a new ListenBrainz add-on for Kodi, service.listenbrainz, on the Kodi forums.

If anyone here is using Kodi, it’d be great if you can try it out and let me know if it works for you! The details of how to download, install, and use are in the Kodi forum post:
https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=342538

Note: If you’re using the Last.fm importer on listenbrainz.org, you may want to not use this add-on for now, as the listens are not guaranteed to have the exact same timestamps as the scrobbles submitted by the Kodi Last.fm add-on, which can make it more likely that the Last.fm importing will import duplicates.

Awesome work @Freso! :raised_hands: :tada:

I just recently started listening to music on Kodi, and was wondering if there was a Listenbrainz add-on. So thanks for this!

But I just saw that this add-on doesn’t yet work with Kodi v19 (Matrix), and that there’s a merge request for that:

Any chance of that getting approved?

Might be worth updating the Kodi thread as well @Freso, if you find the time to do anything on this, a few comments there :+1:

I just resumed work on this yesterday! Hopefully I’ll get to continue work on it again a bit later today. Matrix fixes are absolutely on the radar, but I want to do all the Leia fixes first, so I can just switch focus to Matrix (and Python 3) and not have to worry about Leia anymore.

I’ve started the Matrix branch now, so you can fetch the most recent snapshot of that https://gitlab.com/Freso/service.listenbrainz/-/archive/matrix/service.listenbrainz-matrix.zip - I’ve run it myself on my local Kodi install, and it seems to work fine! I’m hoping to put out a 0.3.0 version Soon™, but want to do a bit more cleanup first.
