Linkin Park’s Meteora 20th anniversary album title

Long time user here. I recently got Linkin Park’s Meteor 20th anniversary three cd set. Got a question about the title and want what the consensus is.

Originally I was thinking title would be “Meteora [20th anniversary]” but as I looked at the album cover “Meteora20 [20th anniversary]”. What are your thoughts?

Subtitles or ETI never go into square brackets, if anything it should be separated by a colon or in rounded parentheses (if this should be considered ETI).

For an additional option, the spine just says “Meteora20”.

I don’t think there is an easy answer here, although the title as it stands right now seems very hard to justify at all.

Looks like that title comes from the band:

Which only adds more confusion as to what to name it.

looking at the cover and spine, I’d prolly enter this as Meteora20 (20 Year Anniversary) (with or without the space in “Meteora20”) personally, since it does say “Meteora20” on both the cover and spine

I’d have the ETI as (20 year anniversary) to conform to ETI rules though. But yeah, I think Meteora20 is correct since it’s on the cover & spine.

Considering that it isn’t actually called “Meteora20” (without the space) anywhere as far as I can tell, I think I would lean towards considering the lack of a space more of a graphic design choice and enter it as “Meteora 20” (and without ETI or a subtitle, although I feel less strongly about that).

It’s not called “Meteora 20” anywhere official either. I see some of the band merch references “Meteora|20” or “Meteora 20”, but I do not see the box set itself called such by official/primary sources, only by unofficial/secondary sources.

I’d say the transcription of the graphic design is not the intended title of the release, per all official website text.

It’s a lot like the old examples of “3” (Toy Story 3) and “MW3” (Modern Warfare 3) which were decided by MusicBrainz voters very conclusively to ignore the transcription of the graphic design.

And the only reason the current MusicBrainz titles doesn’t match official primary sources is that somebody decided it’s ETI.
