I’m currently having a problem with a CD I’ve just digitised. It’s an original CD, of course – not a burnt copy. The barcode on the CD and the sleeve is: 0 602567 268932. This exact barcode is also listed for this release:
. So it should be the same one I have in front of me right now. On MB, the title of Track 1 (CD2) is:
Ansage „Wenn’s Wackersteine auf dich regnet“
On the CD I have:
Ansage
That doesn’t make sense either, as what’s listed as Track 1 on MB – … “„Wenn’s Wackersteine auf dich regnet“” – is actually the title of Track 2.
Here is the track listing as it appears on my CD pack:
I would say, half of it. You initiated the renaming of the recording title according to the CD version: it will take time (votes) to be applied → Edit #155620476 - MusicBrainz
You changed the track title in the tracklist, but didn’t assign the recording again in the Recordings tab. If you leave it like this, a new recording will be created which will have to be merged. → Edit #155621005 - MusicBrainz
Better cancel the second edit, do it again but go to the Recordings tab and select the recording Ansage „Wenn’s Wackersteine auf dich regnet“ (it will be renamed later).
Yes. You have to wait for your edits to be applied. This could take a week if there are no further yes votes. With 3 unanimous yes votes it would be applied after 2 days.
However, I still recommend to cancel your second edit (tracklist) - see above. If you leave it as is, a new recording for “Ansage” will be created, which afterwards has to be merged with the existing recording of Ansage „Wenn’s Wackersteine auf dich regnet“ (after a week renamed to just “Ansage”). It’s not a big problem, but you will have to wait another week for this merge to take effect. You could speed this up by selecting this recording at the same time as you make the correction in the tracklist.
