Inconsistent behaviour with “Open all external links in a new tab” option

I did report a (recurrent) bug to Discourse meta about Inconsistent behaviour with “Open all external links in a new tab” option and they fixed it (once again).

But our current version here is still older than their patch.

Now that it’s fixed I’m alright but I just wanted to make sure it’s fixed for all cases, this is why I created this topic to be able to come back and test, later.

Now:

Legend with my “Open all external links in a new tab” option switched on:

  • OK: Opens in new tab
  • NG: Opens in current tab

☞ @Freso, I don’t remember when we update, is it automatic, like once each month?

Update: I found this topic, it seems that it was not updated, maybe in favour of some automatic regular uptdates (or we needed to turn the post into wiki before its edit period ended):

I can still edit the post, but it just got cumbersome editing every time Discourse is updated – which we (either myself or @zas) do “manually” whenever Discourse prompts us to, which is generally whenever there is a new Discourse (beta) release.

Their recent patch will be included with the next update.

Yes you can limit that topic to very big notable changes or changes special to us, like our Onebox. :slight_smile::+1:
