It is rare that an Inc or Ltd will be an imprint. Usually you see that kind of full company name as part of a copyright (c) 2018 Company Inc

I also find “imprint” a weird word. It generally describes the company who actually puts the effort into putting the release out and getting it into the charts. The company who has the logos on the CD, or name appears on the spine. Whereas a copyright is more worrying about where the money goes.

For a small label this can be all be combined into the same label.

An “imprint” is just a textual/graphical appearance, without defining what that appearance actually stands for.
It can be a logo, it can be a simple text. Or anything in between.

“Label Records Ltd.” might use the imprints “Label” & “Label Records”
“Studio Xyz” located in Brussels might use the imprint “XYZ Bxl”
etc.
The “imprint” is not an entity on its own, but a certain appearance on releases used by a certain entity for a certain reason, without defining that appearance any more than what it is: an appearance.

Calling something an imprint avoids defining such an appearance as something what it might not be in all situations. An imprint can be there for whatever reason. The concert hall where a classical piece is recorded might have an imprint on a release.

A “label” usually is a specific imprint used by the company issuing the release.

It simply a very generic broad term.
