I added a new artist then I found that the artist already exists in the database but with a typo - what do I do?

Hi,
I added the artist Mystiska Skogen: Mystiska Skogen - MusicBrainz and added one album…
When I went to add his other (self-titled) album, it said the album was already on MB. When I checked, the artist had been added but with a typo:
Mystika Skogen - MusicBrainz

What should I do? Correct the original artist then merge the new artist I created?
TBF to the person who added the artist/album, it is pretty hard to spell…

I add typos like this to the alias. That then means someone can search the typo, but get the correction.

Merge edits are supposed to auto-create these aliases.
But I am never sure it does it for sure.
