How to completely remove all tags from an artist’s page?
For example, the bottom page of the Tags section
Is there a way to do that?
Not sure what you mean… Are you looking for a userscript to hide the tags?
No, I want to be able to completely remove them from the artist page…
Tags are per-user.
You can down-vote them, it will hide them for you.
But the other users might still see them.
There must be a way to remove them.
Tags are meant to be community driven. Unlike regular data, they can be pretty subjective (someone put “never gonna give you up” as trance music), so it’s not just right or wrong.
The more upvote it has, the more trustworthy it is. If you don’t agree with the tag, just downvote it
I’ve noticed some quite weird tags appearing lately. Someone had labelled Led Zeppelin as “américain”. Or users tagging “FLAC” or “Want to listen” and other clearly personal tags.
Would be nice if there was a real option to say “only let me see this tag”…
It is currently tagged as “hip-hop”

That’s a perfectly acceptable use of tags 
Just vote them down if you think they shouldn’t be shown, or even better, add more generally useful tags that will then get voted higher and push the other ones off the sidebar

“FLAC” on a CD doesn’t really make sense. Ditto vinyl. These are personal collection tags. And yes I do vote on the odder stuff when I see it.

If you’re simply trying to hide the tags and you use U-Block Origin, you can create a rule that removes the element.
Method 1 - With the picker:
- Right click on the Tags/Genres section
- Click “Block Element”
- Expand the slider (to the left) until the part you don’t want to see disappears
- Click “Create”
Method 2 - Directly adding a rule:
- Click the UBlock icon
- Click the Settings/Gear icon
- Go to “My Filters”
- Add
musicbrainz.org##.sidebar-tagsto your filter list - Apply Changes

See, the issue is not hiding tags, but rather the ability to completely remove them from the artist profile on musicbrainz. It should be possible for musicbrainz users to remove tags from an artist profile on musicbrainz
What you’re proposing is directly at odds with the nature of a community database. If you disagree with the tags that other users have set then you get your 1 vote to contribute, same as everyone else.
Presumably you don’t like the tags on an artist page? If they are offensive you might be able to report them. If you just disagree with them then you will have to live with it.

No, I have no objection or problem with labels.I just want to be able to remove them because some tags may be ineffective.
Then downvote them and share the link so that others can vote too (alongside your reasoning). If it’s really not fitting that it goes negative, you can consider them deleted.
I got plenty of tags that are just wrong IMO, so the best I can do is casting votes
