I own the CD version of the release “New York Big Band”.
The CD tracklist is identical to the vinyl.
Isn’t there an easy way to add the CD?
CDs and Vinyls are stored separately in MusicBrainz.
The tracklist might be the same, but data like the release date, release label, barcode, etc., are expected to differ. The audio might even be different, as many record companies re-mixed tracks for the first digital (CD Audio) version of things that were originally on vinyl.

Simples. Start adding the release. Give it Artist and Title and select the RG. Fill in cat no, barcode, etc.
When it gets to the track list it will offer you the other release to copy… all you need to then do it update the track numbers.
