I recently added this audiobook and I’d like to attach work to its recordings. I would have done it the day I created the release, but its front cover is almost identical to the cover of this children’s picture book by the same distributor, which made me think the narrated text may be from that book but since I didn’t have it then, I simply couldn’t know. A few days ago I managed to find a copy and compare the printed and the narrated text and also read the credits on the last page of the book. The two versions of the text are almost identical, save for a few minor differences in wording. As of the credits, the book was translated from another language by Tatiana Galatoula and the narrated text of the audiobook was adapted by Katerina Giannikou (which is mentioned on the CD booklet). Now, the guidelines for audiobooks state that we should create a work for the book and attach it to each recording. However, given that this is an adapted work, I’m thinking that maybe I should create a work for the audiobook and another one for the picture book, the latter of which I will connect to the former with the appropriate relationship. Or is it better to create a work just for the picture book?

As you have unique credits/relationships for the audiobook (the adaptor), I would indeed create a new work for the audio version.
Amazing work on audiobooks by the way - relationships, works, and scans
