How do I tell if a version of an album has wrong data?

I have a ntsc version of Thriller 25 by Michael Jackson with an album cover that looks like this

the tracklist is 16+4 like and its distributed by Epic and Legacy
There does not seem to be this copy of the album on musicbrainz.

I was going to add it to the database but there is no way a version of a mj album is missing on this website, do I add it anyways? I am new to this website that is why I am asking on the fourms, sorry if I come off as unknowing, new, or stupid.

Not an expert on this, but often times newer releases of older songs don’t get added to MBz right away, so there’s a chance you just might be the first one to do it.

Either way, if you’re unsure, just make sure you check the enable edit voting (At the bottom of the edit page), and other people will review your edits (especially on an artist like mj) and worst thing that happens is it gets rejected and no bad data gets entered.

I actually just purchased Thriller25 for my Mom for Christmas off Discogs. If you look over at Discogs, you’ll see that there were many releases of Thriller25, some exclusive to certain stores, so yeah it’s likely that MB doesn’t have every version cataloged yet.

Very likely. As always confirm that none of the existing releases on MB fully match (barcode, cat #, labels, album art, track listing, etc.) your release before adding it.
Happy Editing!
