How can I get iTunes illustrations with the highest quality?
I use this guy’s site:
https://bendodson.com/projects/itunes-artwork-finder/
Search for the album you want; then click “high resolution” to get the highest resolution iTunes has.
That’s exactly what I wanted to answer, too. Personally, I host my own customized copy of this tool to give me even more control
I know this method, but I have seen that it is possible to change the URL to get the artwork.
Not iTunes specific, but I use this program:
a‐tisket by @marlonob is really good for digital cover art too, although not the main purpose of this tool. iTunes cover art seems to link to the highest quality available.

If you look at an album art URL, for example:
The last bits indicate the resolution of the image. You can change the 600 to, for example, 1200 to get a higher resolution image (maybe). The site that I linked above automatically finds the highest resolution pic , and I find that much easier than fiddling with the URLs.
If you want to do it programmatically, he also provides github links where you can check out his source.
A previously active MusicBrainz editor made this wiki page, which has a section for iTunes as well as many others sites (it hasn’t been updated in a while though):

@Birlya and we are not limited to 1200px, if you put more more more like in Download link to hugest album cover image on iTunes page · Issue #193 · jesus2099/konami-command · GitHub where I used to put 99999999x99999999bb-100.jpg
, it was giving me the biggest available size (often 1200).
