Help with Recordings

I’ve just created this release.

I want to add recordings per the data on the back of the tin. I look at three of four of the tracks and don’t see anything existing that match the run times, recording dates, orchestras, and other performers although there are SEVERAL that have the composer, lyricist, and Miss Joséphine.

Is there a way to use these existing recordings as “templates” to make new recordings from?

On the tin: I’m not quite sure what to make of Other tracks - Joséphine Baker with orchestras of Edmond Mahieux, Alain Romans, Wal-berg and John Ellsworth. I don’t know how to tell which is which or how to represent this ambiguity in MB. Probably need a Joséphine Baker expert to sort it.

Suggestions requested.

For other tracks, we link them to the release.
I did it.

OK, thanks.

So you set the track lengths to the actual lengths on the CD medium. Were you then able to find existing recordings to attach, or did you create new recordings from scratch, or did you manage to use an existing recording with all its relationships as a starting point, and then edit-in the years (or something)?

I always try to help-out MB when it doesn’t have something I’ve managed to acquire. This disc was an interesting thrift-store find.

I guess you created this recording because the orchestra links to “unknown artist” and apparently there’s a way to override the description of an “artist” when you create a relationship.

I never would have found that…
