Harmony and Deezer links

recently, someone made this edit to remove the Deezer link from the artist entry for Altan (Irish folk band).

the justification for this is that while the linked Deezer page is for this band, it also wrongly includes a single from an unrelated artist, Altan (Turkish lo‐fi beatmaker), which confused Harmony, resulting in a link being added to the wrong artist in this edit (later fixed in this edit).

my concern here is while i appreciate Harmony users might find this annoying, the removed Deezer link was the correct link for this artist, and it feels wrong to me to remove accurate information from the database to appease automated tools – rather, i think it should be the responsibility of people using automated tools to ensure the data is correct and edit it if not.

i don’t use Deezer, but when i used Spotify, they were quite responsive to artist mix-ups like this and would fix them if reported, which would be a better way to resolve this problem.

i am not going to revert the original edit but i’d appreciate some input here – is it generally accepted practice to remove external links in cases like this?

I generally try and add links to all affected artists when I see this happen, save for one case where it was only a couple tracks from one artist (and in this case only on Tidal). I will also make a note of when this happens in the artists’ annotations, like I did with Alex S., or on the release, like Pull Over (Siren Song) or Survivors.
