I’m doing a round of votes for cover art edits and this pair caught my attention:
Removing: Edit #150574463 - MusicBrainz
Adding: Edit #150574479 - MusicBrainz
What would be the guidelines for this? Can cover images be trademarked/copyrighted in a way that we cannot use them?
My main problem is that the edit note for both these edits and the original submission for this release’s cover art image doesn’t even say where they obtained it from.
It is possible this user just removed the copyright logo manually from the image and resubmitted it, in which case I believe it would be considered fan-art.
