Hi

I send a ticket to add the places Sprang-Capelle and Andijk. To my great surprise and also annoyance I received a comment back from @drsaunde: This is a former area, we dont do historical areas here. Please use the current area for your artist

The artist is born in Andijk and not in Medemblik. By not mentioning where she was actually born and giving a different place name, is a form of falsification of history. If the city of The Hague is merged with Rotterdam in 25 years, will every person born in The Hague be born in Rotterdam? Will MB replace The Hague with Rotterdam everywhere it says? I think MB makes a big big mistake here. I dont care if Andijk is a part of Medemblik now, she is still born in Andijk.

Can someone explain to me why MB is so fond of facts, but does not acknowledge these facts?

I really disagree. It is pure falsification of history. Often there are nasty comments made about Discogs but they do have this possibility. In the option I indicated there is almost no human effort required. In this option nothing changes for the Area Editors
