If you read that full MBS-6680 ticket from 2012, you will see it contains complex aspects.
Thinking it may never be tackled, I created that MBS-11236 trackset mini ticket.
As it’s better than nothing and would cover 80% of my needs. 
I can imagine it’s complex. I do not know what the code is written in but if I would have more time I would love to get involved and help out. (I am a software developer.) Maybe later!
