Fixing incorrect release format

hi! super new to using musicbrainz. i’ve recently started using linux and my default music player uses musicbrainz but it appears a fair amount of my collection don’t have disc IDs so i’ve started adding them in.

just realized that for one i added yesterday, the release format is displayed as 8cm cd but the one in my album is a regular size cd. i can’t find any evidence there was ever another physical version released and the chances are extremely small that would happen anyway

i tried editing it but can’t find anywhere to change the release format, so is there something i’m missing or is there a different method for fixing formats specifically? (maybe add a new release in the correct format and either merge or delete the incorrect one?)

You should be able to edit the release format in the Tracklist tab of the release editor:

Have you checked this release edit history?
You may find the source/reference of the original editor, or even ask them, if none.
Maybe the Discogs importer script was fooled by that CD, Mini format, in 2024.

looking at the edit history it was added by a deleted user and it indeed was imported from discogs so that makes sense. thanks!
