So I think this got out of focus. Unfortunately we never come to a conclusion. I decided for myself, that I prefer weekday names. For me the arguments, that we never get into trouble when having to add pre-days (Day 0) and that the event marketing does not use the day numbering. And also in normal verbal communication with friends nobody uses “I want to see Bandy XY at Day 4”. It is always “I want to see Bandy XY at Saturday”.
So my proposal is to have the weekday names in the Event Guidelines at least as an alternative. Better when it is the preferred option and the Day numbering the alternative.
For large events which exceed a week, which is rare, day numbering can be used or add an disambiguation. The date field will distinguisch the events anyways.

- Add weekday names (Friday) as the preferred option and day numbering (Day 1) as an alternative
- Do not add weekday names (friday)
