Communication follow-up in edit comments have always been problematic for me: notification failing, if email notification works it is still a step outside system (making for smartphone browser quirkyness when following links), and commenting on other’s edits means having then to keep track of own comments through awkward edit search with no figured way to be trusted: To demonstrate with a word I know to have used but once in a comment, why does this edit search (for ‘advocate’ in edit notes/comments by me):
not find this edit note/comment?:
I have tried other similar searches too, like ‘glancing’ for Edit #136657836 - MusicBrainz , and ‘relationshipping’ for Edit #136629892 - MusicBrainz, with same result. Could it be that ‘edit note’ is defined as
‘1st comment to be posted to an edit’ – which would include other editors but yield 0 results for me since I narrowed search to myself as author? or
‘1st comment to be posted by [set editor]’ – which would exclude later comments?
Or what? I am unsure to have any own edits commented only by others than me, so cannot test that.
Also, system should not waver between ‘comment’ & ‘note’.
Bleedings & saturations.
(I would also like, bottommost the ‘My data’ dropdown, below ‘Notes left on my edits’, a similar ‘Notes by me left on other’s edits’ – if you would like another ticket. https://musicbrainz.org/search/edits?auto_edit_filter=&order=desc&negation=0&combinator=and&conditions.0.field=editor&conditions.0.operator=!%3D&conditions.0.name=Griomo&conditions.0.args.0=1318186&conditions.1.field=edit_note_author&conditions.1.operator=me&conditions.1.name=Griomo&conditions.1.args.0=1318186&field=Please+choose+a+condition does the job, but that dropdown couplink would be just natural.)
