Does [No lyrics] applies on single/low use voice samples?

I want to add a work for Forbidden Art by Caster and I’m not sure whether I should put “English” or “[No lyrics]”.

The recording only has one line: “Don’t fuck with a god” used two times and not sung. Does this qualify as lyrics for Musicbrainz standards?

I know that samples are not enough to qualify a work as a song, but does it apply here too?

I personally think it should count as English lyrics. that said, I don’t know what if any community consensus there is on the matter

From what I have heard, vocal samples certainly qualify to make a work a song. I agree with @UltimateRiff that your work has lyrics. Whether the presence of lyrics turns a work into a song is something I constantly agonize over. Usually, I set the work type to “song” whenever there are lyrics, but this is certainly debatable in many cases.

I’ve been told on the discord to use “song” when you would actually sing the lyrics.

But then I’ll use that new mindset from the other thread as it seems more widespread. Thanks
