Working on the Thelonious Monk catalog, I came across a recording of Caravan, credited to Monk, from the release How to Cut & Paste: The Thirties Edition by DJ Yoda.
All the tracks / recordings are currently credited to the artists who supplied the primary sample that each track is built around. There’s enough added on top of that, though, that I question whether the artist credit should be to Monk or to DJ Yoda (with a “mash up of” or “samples” relationship to the original recording, of course).
