Digital Release Capitalization

Exactly. That’s why I have tried to not let it bother me, but it’s been 5-6 years and it still continues. In any case, I see that there is no willingness in the community to revisit this. I just wanted to express my disasfaction with the status quo.

Music publishers and artists have lost the cover artwork as a channel for expression and use plain text with Unicode symbols as a weak replacement for it now. On CD, track listings have sometimes used mixed capitalization and strange symbols, such as the Pet Shop Boys writing in sentence case. I believe that capitalization rules should be strictly followed in collections. Artists are still free to present their track listing to the extent that distribution platforms permit them to.

Unicode has gotten carried away with inclusion of letter variations and colored icons in plain text when their job of unifying code pages was complete.

I consult Wikipedia for converting unusual symbols into text consistently, like in the case of recent Coldplay albums.
