Are credits allowed to be taken from an artist’s official website and used for recording and release relationships?
The main thing is to credit your sources. Add the links to where the data came from.

Any reliable source can be used. As @ivandobsky said, it’s important to cite the source, because some reliable sources are more reliable than others. 
Also because we all make mistakes, and citing sources lets other editors (or our future selves) double-check anything suspect and correct if needed.
