I recently added this Norwegian release. I had no problems with it, except when it comes to the language. I wasn’t sure if I should select Norwegian Nynorsk or Bokmål but I ended up choosing the latter, because, as far as I know, it is the formal standard of the language. I’d like to ask from anyone who can speak Norwegian to kindly change the language to Nynorsk, if I’ve made a mistake, or just let me know it’s wrong. In either case, I’d be grateful
I don’t speak the language but, based on common markers, Bokmål seems to be correct. E.g. the last track title would start with “Ei” in Nynorsk; “drøm” would become “draum”, etc.
Side note: track numbers should restart from 1 on each medium side, just like on the Discogs link attached to the release.
Discogs seem to have actually got this wrong by their own criteria: they’re numbered consecutively on the release itself.
It looks like Bokmål to me too (although I am also not native!).
Thank you both for your input!
Thanks, I didn’t know that - I thought that we were supposed to follow whichever track numbering is found on the release.
The Discogs page is actually wrong, because according to the site’s Submission Guidelines, the track numbering can be continuous, if that’s how it appears on the release.
Unlike Discogs, I can’t see that we have any documentation on this point, so do take my side note as entirely unofficial - different editors might have different assumptions there.
