City names have to be written in their own language?

I was recently editing the Tiarra entry and I noticed that, at “Founded in” field, if I write “Bucharest”, it is suggesting me to write “București” (the name of the city in Romanian).

And then If the name of the city is Bangkok, do I have to write “กรุงเทพมหานคร” ?

Well you can search for “Bangkok” and then select it from the search results. I think area names do have to be in Latin script, but I’m not sure. Ideally MB would pick the area name in the same language as you have set your UI (if available).

In this case, my UI is not set to Romanian for sure.

The area names are… kinda random, since they’re mostly based on how they were imported. So you get Wien, but Rome. As long as they can be found I’d say it’s ok for now, but at some point it’d be nice to improve that
