Whether different CD matrix info should always be separated is an open question; for now, do not merge them if another editor has made the effort to split them. Different pressing plants require different relationships and as such different releases.
Hi jgreene5, you should generally add it as a new one. If you are only using it to “add to your collection”, you don’t need to do the extra work to import another one. If you want to update the release with details of your own, you should be careful to make sure you aren’t overwriting other valid details of another release.
Your release (the release on Discogs) is currently not on MB. …or, at least, it’s not linked to a MB release.
This release comes from a different pressing plant than the one on MB - DADC Pitman vs. DADC Terre Haute. A different pressing plant requires a new release.
However, there is a problem here: The release shown on MB (images) does not correspond to the one linked on Discogs, but actually to your release. Look at the disc (rim text and the additional “DIDP 081417” above).
I would add a new release and remove any conflicting images from the other.
As a disambiguation, I would refer to the CD print (rim text) and not to the matrix.
My matrix had the DIDP-081417 that was showing in a couple of other releases, but ended in “K2 2A 19” rather than a 1 or a 2 (if my memory serves me correctly). I have uploaded a scan to the link that agatzk kindly provided.
I wasted everyone’s time on this, my version is the “Hit Savers Platinum” version. I must have overlooked it when searching for my release. My apologies to everyone, but thank you for all the suggestions. They will be a big help going forward.
