There seems to be an issue when trying to search for edits using the “Edited entity” = “is in my subscriptions” filter. I have a couple of saved URLs that I use to look for any changes in my Collections (which I am subscribed to). They stopped working this morning and either return a generic page cannot be displayed browser error or a “Your search took too long and was cancelled. It may help to be more specific, or to try again.” error. If I run the same search with the same filters but switch it to “Edited entity” = “is not in my subscriptions” the results are returned with no problems. Are there any changes or issues that could be causing this? I’m not sure if this is the right place to raise this so if it needs raising elsewhere please let me know.
I have search links like this, and some days it is hit and miss if they load. Other days they load fast. So try again later in the day and see what happens.
This morning (UK time) this loaded way faster than normal for me. Tried it again just now and also loading better than normal (i.e. within 30seconds)
It does appear to have been a transient issue. I was having issues all day yesterday but seems to be back to normal today.
A lot of edit searches can be quite heavy, so don’t be too surprised if they time out. Often, setting “entered after” to the last 7 days or so can make queries that would otherwise time out work, but it’s not a magic bullet.
For collections, I did at some point implement a toggle in the collection/edits page to show “Others’ edits for this collection”, so that I could look at other’s changes and hide my own (which otherwise made it quite hard to use the pages). That might or might not be useful to you as an alternative, but mentioning it just in case!
Indeed, make sure to limit your search to the recent past.
Make it 2 weeks + a few days in case of a last minute no vote.
