Can somebody help me with linking live video to an event

so about 10 years ago i went to a gig from Tenacious D in the AB in Brussel

this is the link to the event in musicbrainz

and i want a way to link this youtube video to that event

it is a live recording of the full concert. it is on the official youtube account of the venue.

so my main question is i want to link this in some kind of way.
how do i start on this? do i make a live release that is sort of an album with the setlist as the tracks and stuff? does each track need a “live at AB” tag or something? and do i then link the video to the release?

is there somewhere a different entry in Musicbrainz that i can use as an example?

I would create an official release in a group with type ‘Other’ + ‘Live’. One recording per track/song, marked as video recordings. Medium is ‘Digital Media’. I see no major reason why this is any different from a concert DVD, except that may be seen as ‘Album’ + ‘Live’ if sold by the artist.

A lazier solution is to make a release with one video recording, or simply just make one standalone video recording, which could be linked to the works.

Release example (DVD bootleg, though): https://musicbrainz.org/release/f0dc3c24-3303-40ef-ba0d-4b6eb891a6cd

Release with single recording example (audio, not video): Release “2024-10-17: NTS Radio” by Fred again.. & Jim Legxacy - MusicBrainz

I’m also a fan of The D and will help you with the release

Hmm I always assumed we would be able to link live videos to the event as a url relationship… since it is explicitly mentioned to link it to the recording or release instead I guess I slept on the discussion around that!

It does seem a complex way to do it. I was going to link a complete YouTube recording of a show I played a few weekends ago, just to file it nicely. But I have to say that it is not worth the effort to add a recording for the ~6 unknown local bands that played, just to get a video link in. (The tenacious D video does seem more appropriate for an official release, though)

is this correct?

Yes, this looks great! There are a few small changes I’ll submit as edits, feel free to comment on them.
