hi, newbie here. can anyone tell me if there is a way to browse the full database by artist, and if so, how? yes, i have lots and lots of time on my hands! thanks in advance.

Hi! We used to have this a long time ago, but we removed it because it didn’t seem useful. I guess you could browse a search of all edits adding artists if you don’t mind the sort being by new/old rather than alphabetical?
I’m not sure if I understand your request correctly, but one way could be to download a local mirror copy of all the MB data
https://musicbrainz.org/doc/MusicBrainz_Server/Setup
and browse the database for artists (and other entities) locally with SQL commands.
