Hey everyone,
I created a post a while back on the old forums about creating a database for booze (spirits, wine, beer, Vermouth, etc).
I was wondering:
A. If anyone would be interested in doing that? And…
B. As I am not a developer, If anyone has a rough idea how much it would cost to get a (non-profit) project like that going?

Cool idea! I can’t give you any details, but I can say that it would take roughly a lot of work to get going. See these two topics for some other database ideas (the first one probably closer in scope than your idea):
Has there ever been consideration to create a MovieBrainz and/or TVBrainz? The online resources for this are fairly poor in my opinion. There is IMDB which does not have an open API, and there is TMDB and TVDB which both are poor in format compared to what I have experienced in MusicBrainz.
We have a lot of discussion on topics like 'why is there no ‘brainz’ for movies? I’m sure I’m not the only one always thinking ‘a x brainz would be perfect right now’. Time to let loose!
If we could keep it to one ‘brainz’ wish per post then we can, for fun, see what’s getting the most likes/interest. Maybe wait for someone else to post before posting again as well.
