Boom Boom not recognized as a work when pasting in “Add relationship” dialog on “Add standalone recording”

Can anybody confirm ?

Maybe the capital A in the MBID is the reason? All other hexadecimal characters are lower case as usual.

You nailed it … but how to fix this ?

How did it get uppercased in the first place? When I click through to it in Search results - MusicBrainz, I get the lowercased URL https://musicbrainz.org/work/4c4b77c7-21a1-32a9-a29b-241ff99cb397. When I paste that into https://musicbrainz.org/recording/create, the work is loaded.

Probably the relationship editor should automatically lowercase MBIDs, though. RFC 4122 - A Universally Unique IDentifier (UUID) URN Namespace says that UUIDs should be case-insensitive on input. I created https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/MBS-13541.

  1. Click your Boom Boom link
  2. Right-click the Overview tab to copy the correct lowercase link

This was actually a cockpit error on my side … I was fooled by the fact that the UUID with the uppercase “A” actually worked when entering in the browser

but not anymore when pasting into the “Add relationship” dialog.

I fixed my code … everything is good now.
