Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra Brass Section

I’m trying to fix the credits on this release, and I came across something that I’m not sure how to resolve.

The cover lists “Bolshoy Theatre Orchestra Brass Section” as one of the artists. That specific artist title does not exist in the MB database as far as I can find (ignoring the spelling of “Bolshoy”. I’ll deal with that in the “credited as”). I did find it on Discogs, however, as a variation (their equivalent of an alias) of “Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra Soloists Ensemble,” and that group does exist in MB. Discogs apparently decided that any sub-set of the BTO would just be a variant of the Soloists Ensemble, as there are a large number of variants listed.

My question is, do we treat them the same way on MB? I’m happy to use the “Soloists Ensemble” and credit them as shown on the cover art, if that’s how MB wants to handle it. Otherwise, I’ll have to create a new artist.

I’d like to hear some opinions. (Well, “read.” I’m not that close to any of you)

The brass section is just part of the orchestra rather than its own group, so I would generally credit this as “brass: Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra credited as Bolshoy Theatre Orchestra Brass Section”

I don’t quite understand. “brass: Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra” doesn’t exist in MB either. Do you mean to somehow prepend “brass:” in front of the Bolshoi Theatre Symphony Orchestra"?

There are already several groups that appear to be subsets:

I mean don’t set it to orchestra, but to instruments: brass. Those groups in the link sound like actual groups, but “brass section” does not - that said, if the brass section often plays separately on its own, then a new artist is fine.
