Are Soundcloud tracks official or promotional releases?

This description is too general, any single and/or EP included in the album release fits this description. the point of this discussion was to separate the promo release from the official one

It is a tough and confusing line as a lot of music is released to promote interest. Singles promote interest in an album. But in MB language “promotional” has a tighter definition that is also saying “this is not part of an official catalogue”

this is also why I’m looking to clarify the distinction between “promoting a different release” is not promotional and “promoting a similar release, from the same release group” is
