I went to see my recents listens on ListenBrainz, and I saw the youtube videos I was just watching.
How are you sending your listens? I used to have this happen with Web Scrobbler but they have a way to disable non-music in YouTube in the settings.
I assume you are using the ListenBrainz app on Android? In settings under “Listening Apps” you can configure for which apps listens should be submitted.
I thought this was now disabled by default/opt-in? This is indeed a big privacy concern and has been previously raised.
This ticket/PR made new apps opt-in AFAIK: https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/MOBILE-160?
But I’m not sure how it behaves if YT is there on install. Any idea @Jasjeet?
Hey, if you’re using ListenBrainz Android, please uninstall the current app and install this version: Release 2.9.2 · metabrainz/listenbrainz-android · GitHub
The onboarding will solve your issue. There is a screen where you select what apps to submit listens from. Choose only the ones you want to submit from, in this case, youtube should stay off.
You can refer to this sample video of how the whole flow works.
