Youtube Channel wrongly shortened

I just noticed that youtube channels get shortened (removing the /c/), which makes them a 404

Example:
https://musicbrainz.org/url/53b66ef2-4606-44f0-b11b-b0e30188486c
The entered Youtube Channel is / was https://www.youtube.com/c/D4DJEnglishChannel, but got shortened to https://www.youtube.com/D4DJEnglishChannel, which makes it a 404

this also happens when trying to edit the URL in the input box directly

so my question is: is this actually intentional or a bug?

my guess is that it was added because certain popular channels are able to remove it (ex: https://www.youtube.com/taylorswift) obviously, not all artists are this big, so i agree it needs to be changed
