I am starting on a local project to create index/information files for my audio collection, and I am currently playing with XML. As this is early stage, does anyone know if there are similar projects already done – or are there any XML experts around who can have a look at what I have already started, and provide suggestions/comment?

Hi. Yes - extending as far as possible. No point in reinventing the wheel. But the structure appears overly complex in some areas, and doesn’t link in with other datasets such as Discogs.
It does, through URL relationships. For example:
