heh, it’s not impossible to mess up statements on Wikidata, in fact it’s a little too easy… Songs and singles are obviously different things, so they need to have separate items.
When we come across things like that:
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q2746121 instance of single
But:
Wikipedia (4 entries)
enwiki A&E (song)
eswiki A&E (canción)
frwiki A&E (chanson)
svwiki A&E (sång)
I still think single and song are similar enough to be linked to MB works and singles and maybe even recordings.
But I link/unlink according to WD instance, as said in this topic.
But I feel it’s counter-productive for MB.
Situation at WD/WP does not improve with time.
WP are always a mix of song and single.
A purely single WP page without song info does not make sense, indeed.
WD, because of its WP links, almost always confuses songs and singles.
WD are randomly instances of single, song or both.
It would be better to allow single and song instances WD linked on both MB RG and Works, or something like that.
It’s a pity to not get song data from WP on MB Work, because of the instance of single system of WD.
