What to do if Picard scans and picks the wrong album?

Is there a way to change the result? Like if you have a different version of an album or what have you.

You can use “lookup in browser”, it will lookup the release using a search string, which you can also adjust if the proper result isn’t returned.

Picard offers you different ways to load the proper release:

  1. There are different ways to find the release from files, with Lookup individual files, Lookup clustered files or Scan. The general recommendation is to try Lookup first, then Scan.
  2. You can use Picard’s search functionality to find the proper release.
  3. You can lookup on the MusicBrainz website and use the green tagger button on the website to load any release into MusicBrainz
  4. You can drag the URL for a release from you browser’s location bar into Picard, or copy and paste it into Picards search field.
  5. For CDs you can also look up for disc ID.

If an album is on the right is ALMOST right, but you wanted a Deluxe instead of Standard edition. RIGHT CLICK menu and choose “Other Versions” lets you swap between different releases in same Release Group.

You can also Submit AcoustID.

You can also Submit AcoustID.

This is incorrect. Don’t submit AcoustIDs unless you’re confident that your files are already associated with the correct MusicBrainz release. This is covered at 1:35 in the video that you linked to.

@e1m1 he definitely watched the entire video.

Don’t use scan if you’re working with a complete album, except for as a last resort.

Cluster > Lookup is the workflow you want to use.
