And why not link directly to the archived URL rather than relying on userscripts?

• Keep documenting the genuine URL is more clear and historically informative
• We would have to edit dead links from genuine URL to archive URL manually
• The web archive format could change and we would have to manually edit all archived links again

If the aim is to keep web archive links, IMO, we just should mark them as ENDED. The wayback machine links should be automatically displayed in this case. Right now they are already automatically displayed when you use ALL LINKS user script In the future, I think it would be a good feature to integrate into MBS itself But we should really not manually input any wayback machine URLs, it’s counter productive and endless task (imagine if their format changes or if it migrates to another site, e…

So it’s better to leave genuine URL in place and the MB website would show you the computed archive link (for all ended URL links).
