VM / Docker: Explanation for command 'bin/reset-containers'?

Under “Troubleshooting” you write:

If you get a mysterious error about containers not being started or some-such, try running this command:

$ vagrant ssh – bin/reset-containers

What exactly does this command?
I know the two executed commands listed here, but what exactly will be resetted, recreated, deleted in all (or only 1) containers?

Or the other way:
If I have a fully updated VM with the newest schema #24 and the newest replication packets applied and then execute ‘bin/reset-containers’: What exactly I will loose?
