Translate the Picard installer on Transifex

It has been possible to translate Picard’s Windows installer for a while, but to do so was a bit cumbersome.

We have now made the process easier and have made the translation of the installer available on Transifex:

https://www.transifex.com/musicbrainz/musicbrainz/picard_installer/

The response to this has been faster than I had expected and only one day after we have made this available we already had 4 new completed translations and two others started. It would be great if you would also help the translation into your language.

There is not much to translate actually, as the majority of the installer texts are already translated for us. The Picard specific texts are only 93 English words to translate. But this also means we can only use translations for languages that are already available for the installer itself. So before you start working on a translation best check if your language is listed here:

To help you with the translation and to better put the texts into context here are some screenshots of the install and uninstall process:

Install:

The below messages might show up, depending on whether Picard is already installed and running. The messages are custom to Picard and need to be translated.

installer-1

installer-1b

The next two screens contain only default texts of the installer and are automatically translated:
installer-2

installer-3

installer-4
The individual components listed here get translated. Hovering over a component with the mouse will show a small help text in the “Description” box, which is also translatable.

The next two screens are again default texts of the installer and automatically translated:

installer-5

installer-6

Uninstall:

There is only a single string to translate (“Remove settings and personal data”), see the second screen below:

uninstaller-1

uninstaller-2

uninstaller-3

The installer is now fully translated into Albanian, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and traditional Chinese. It is mostly complete for Hebrew and Swedish.

This is really great  Thanks a lot to everyone who contributed.
