I’m not sure if I am posting this correctly or in the correct place, so if not I apologize.
I am using Version 2.13.3 (no newer versions seem available) and about a month ago the program seemed to stop saving any & all tags.
I click of “save” and things looks fine, as if it has saved properly, but if I pull those same files back up they act as if nothing has been safe at all. No matter how many times I’ve tried, or what files I try to save (of which there have been literally thousands by now) they show as if nothing has happened.
I’m the sort that tends to want to double check things, so this may be more widespread, but others may see it looks saved and assume all is well.

Ij the Options menu check whether “Save tags to files” is enabled.

Tah.
I don’t know which is worse; the fact that such an option would need to exist OR my inability to even thing such an option exists.
Much appreciated with regards to both the reply and assistance.

It’s one of those easy pitfalls. It is a quite handy option if you want to rename files without modifying the tags. E.g. if you want to use existing tags to create a folder structure and filenames. That’s why it is one of those options that can not only be set in the option dialog, but also has a quick setting in the menu bar under options
But if it is disabled it can be unexpected to the user why the application that claims to be a tag editor does not change any tag
You are definitely not the first one to get confused by this. Writing tags is enabled by default, though.
