Standalone forwarding server

Is it possible to install a local “standalone” server that acts as follows:

  • for the search-requests it searches in both his local database and in an upstream server (for example musicbrainz.org)
  • for the creation of new content: everything is put in the local database
    (This way we could put in our tracks in the local server keeping the facility to lookup tracks available in the main servers)

Hi!

  • Searching can be done in one database at a time, either upstream or local, but not both;
  • Creating new content locally is possible in the “standalone” mode, but then it is not possible to get new content from upstream anymore.
