Hi. I’m using the Pano Scrobbler app with ListenBrainz and it works fine, all of my listens get added. However, if I disable Pano Scrobbler and connect Spotify directly to my Listenbrainz account, it doesn’t show the song I’m currently listening to and none of the previously listened to songs get added to my scrobbles. What could the issue be?
Spotify’s service that makes a user’s listens available to us is… not consistent. The data arrives quite delayed – does the data arrive for you eventually?
If not, try disconnecting the spotify service and reconnecting it.
I have been getting email from ListenBrainz about Spotify Importer Error
We encountered an error while importing your listens from Spotify.
The error was as follows: “Could not authenticate with Spotify, please unlink and link your account again.”
Please take a look at your Spotify import page (ListenBrainz) for more information.
My Spotify listens are delayed about 48 hours (24 hours from when this email as sent).
I have tried switching to “Disable” and then “Activate both features” but it doesn’t seem to be request a new login/token/auth.
I do not see the word “unlink” anywhere on the “Connect third-party music services” page. Should I hope that my spotify plays will be eventually consistent?
This is the 3rd email I have gotten in the last month about Spotify not scrobbling correctly.
@OctaneZ I happened to receive the same email and disabled/enabled both features. I haven’t checked ListenBrainz until today. I noticed that it stopped scraping my listens on the same day you posted your message (12th of August).
So, I logged into Spotify account management and removed ListenBrainz from the applications. I then disabled/enabled both features and it now requested a new auth token from Spotify.
As soon as I did this, scraping started to work again.
This happened to me now, the connection is borked and listenbrainz doesn’t seem to have any way to reconnect spotify. Spotify app page says “you haven’t approved any apps”.
How can i force the listenbrainz page to relog log into spotify? What if you want to switch to another Spotify accounts, are you just boned?
EDIT: it works now for some reason, still there’s no real way to unlink spotify it seems.
Spotify integration issues often occur due to authentication problems. Try disconnecting Spotify from ListenBrainz, then reconnecting to refresh the token.
If that doesn’t work, go to your Spotify account settings, remove ListenBrainz from connected apps, and reconnect. This usually resolves the issue.
