Series of Series or what?

In Germany we have the MPS (Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum) as a touring medieval market featuring many concerts.
There are about 10 events at the same places every year. Some variation happens sometimes, but the most are the same each year.

Here you find the upcoming episode at Bückeburg

I found some entries already: Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum - MusicBrainz

Should this style be continued (a) or is it better to have a series of series (b)?
a) Series: Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum
→ Event: Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum YEAR, City
b) Series: Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum
→ Series: Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum YEAR
→ Event: Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum YEAR, City
c) Series: Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum
→ Event: Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum YEAR
→ Event: Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum YEAR, City

(a) will lead to a very big series if we have more events entered but (b) is kinda unusual and so it will not match the pattern I expect for FestivalGuide, but that is a solvable problem and we should focus on the best for MB, I think.
(c) is also unusual in another way. I think an event should be somehow complete in itself (I struggle to find the right english words…), I mean the events in the different cities should not have a common parent event because it will be misleading.

So go with (a) or is there a better option?

I would think it appropriate to add an extra level of event parts. I’ve done something similar for Popronde, which is a traveling dutch festival. It’s a festival that every year visits a number of different cities, and every city has a number of venues.

I have so far only entered a small part of popronde so it’s not a complete example, (it’s on my to do list  ) but I structured it like this:

[series] Popronde (the festival)
[event] Popronde 2009 (the year)
[event] Popronde 2009 Groningen (the city name)
[event] Popronde 2009 Groningen: VERA (the venue)

This is not something that’s in the guideline (yet), but I think that’s because it’s a peculiar type of event series. It feels very intuitive to structure traveling events like your options (b) or (c). Without the extra layer it would all look a bit cluttered imo. Don’t know how others feel about this though?

BTW: you say (b) isn’t possible? But I think IT IS possible to make a subseries, right? Or isn’t that what you mean?

You are right, subseries are possible. I edited the initial post to have all options in one place. I also put my statement there.
