You are right, but you still find the edits in the editing history.
What I asked about were adds which you don’t find there at all.

For this one, it’s a 2003 FreeDB import.

Edit #474985 - Add release (pre‐NGS)
These imports used to create a Disc ID, but the Add Disc ID edit type did not exist for them.
