I’m not sure but I’d be surprised if it the mono recording wasn’t presented as two channels. People would start to think their hifi gear was broken

I would assume then that there is no technical difference between a mono release and stereo release as they would both use the “2ch” area/TOC.

While ticket is being worked on, does anyone have an object to me creating separate media for each ToC (table of contents)?
There are releases to which I want to add multichannel mixes and would rather them as a new SACD medium rather than additional tracks to the existing medium

Yes, I would object. Adding a separate media would violate the current guidelines.
I asked this in the change too - how do I go about changing the guidelines?
