According to the documentation, the release publisher:
Indicates the publisher of this release. This is not the same concept as the record label.
This mainly tells us what it isn’t, which is useful, but now I still don’t know when I am supposed to use it, and exactly what it means to be the publisher of a release.
Wikipedia isn’t much help either.
Could someone elaborate?
Use this relationship if you see printed something like « Published by Bob Marley. »
- Not the same as the logos you see, that are labels of the release
- Not the same as « ℗2016 That Company, Ltd. » for which you can link all recordings to That Company, Ltd. with the dated relationship (from 2016 to 2016) phonographic copyrighted
- Not the same as « ©2016 That Company, Ltd. » for which you can link the release to That Company, Ltd. with the date relationship copyrighted

Thank you. I thought it would be something like that, but the description is so vague that I started to doubt myself.
I’ve got a release without a proper label (but with a pretty high catalogue number, surprisingly) published by some guy instead. I guess I should use this relationship then.
